The Buddhist Peace Walkers will be walking from Greenfield, MA to Boston.  February 13 - February 28, 2011.  This walk is initiated by New England Nipponzan Myohoji, a Japanese Buddhist Order that builds pagodas around the world and inititates walks for peace.  They state, "We walk for an awakening of conscience, of desiring to do good and putting down harmful actions, believing and esteeming that seed of pure divinity within all people ..."

Buddhist Peace Walkers

The Walk's aim is to visit communities along their route, listen to local concerns and solutions and calling for:

  • End all War
  • Sustainable Living
  • Creation of Peace

The Walk for a New Spring seeks the assistance of community members along their route to:

  • Come together for a potluck meal
  • Hear how community members are dealing with the effects of war, economy, health, education, et.
